Titans_Test_Prep

Students who take college admissions test "cold" are increasingly at a disadvantage. Practice tests help focus subject review. Experience with the SAT/PSAT/ACT can improve scores. Score improvement depends on the amount of effort put into preparation.

While expensive professional coaching has been available for years, TAAP delivers quality workshops and study materials at a reasonable price.

SAT / PSAT / ACT Workshops

  • Do you know what types of questions are on the SAT/PSAT/ACT?
  • Do you need help practicing verbal and math questions?
  • Do you understand when and how to guess to improve your score?
  • Are you "test wise" about standardized tests such as the SAT/PSAT/ACT?
Our program familiarizes you with what is being measured and how.  Our program also teaches you the effects of guessing on your score, and shows you logical approaches to answering questions.

"The SAT is a high-stakes test. It pays to prepare for it just as you would prepare for any rigorous endeavor. I would never encourage someone to go in cold"

Keys to Successful SAT Prep

  • Realistic Diagnostic Tests
All Titans Test Prep students take an initial diagnostic test. This test is a full-length, professionally proctored exam that provides students with a realistic experience and a baseline score. Additional tests are taken throughout the course. These exams allow students to reinforce the techniques they have learned, practice their newfound skills, and build the mental and physical stamina to perform their very best on the actual exam.

  • Great Instructors
Titans Test Prep instructors are carefully selected and rigorously trained to ensure that students have a great classroom experience that is interactive and highly effective. Titans Test Prep instructors not only know the test, they also know how to teach the test. They communicate clearly, listen well, and strive to help their students reach their full potential.

  • Adaptable Course Materials
The foundation of the Titans Test Prep is our fantastic materials that review all the concepts tested on the exam and provide lots of example and practice problems to enable the students to apply the concepts to test questions. The Titans Test Workbook also includes a fully detailed, written explanation for every problem in the Workbook.

  • Individualized Homework Assignments
Titans Test Prep students receive individualized homework assignments based on their skill level in individual content areas. For example, two students in the same class who have different skill levels on a particular content area (e.g., percents) will be assigned different homework problems. Homework assignments develop and strengthen the students’ current skill sets and then challenge them to stretch beyond their comfort zone.

  • Personalized Score Reports
After the diagnostic test and every practice test, Titans Test Prep students receive fully personalized test report that details in clear, easy-to-read graph form the individual student’s strengths and weaknesses in each of the content areas tested on the exam.

  • Essential CollegeAdmissions Info
What is the ultimate goal of getting a great SAT/ACT score? It opens the door to better universities and it qualifies students for scholarships to pay for their education. The SAT/ACT are not the only thing that admissions counselors look at, though. So, as part of the Titans Test Prep Program, we provide a four-hour informational seminar that is open to students and their parents. In this seminar, a college admissions specialist provides vital information on university admissions, scholarship applications, and writing effective application essays.

  • Valuable Online SAT Prep and Career Inventory
All Titans Test Prep students are also enrolled in a one-year online prep course (a $400 value). Students have access to this program as soon as they register for the Titans Test Prep Course. In addition, the Titans Test Prep program provides students access to an online Career Inventory so they can identify their skills and interests and then match them with related careers, university majors, and classes. The Inventory is a great place for students to identify and research the majors and universities most attractive to them.

  • Motivating Incentives
We want our students to reach their full potential. To help encourage them to stretch for their highest possible score, the Titans Test Prep program provides irresistible incentives for students who take our prep courses. Top achievers receive a laptop computer.

SAT Prep Tools Give Advantage to Students from Wealthier Families

Newswise — Students from higher-income families are the ones most likely to use SAT preparation tools such as classes and tutors, which gives them an advantage in getting into college, a new study suggests.

Results from a nationwide study showed that students who took private SAT prep classes averaged scores 60 points higher on their SAT tests compared to those who didn't take those classes. As a result, they were more likely to get into college, and into more selective colleges.

"SAT prep tools have become a tool of advantaged families to ensure that their children stay ahead in the competition for college admissions," said Claudia Buchmann, co-author of the study and associate professor of sociology at Ohio State University.
